A baby is always a reason to have celebration. Thus, there is the baby shower. So, what is a baby shower?

It is a party thrown in honor of a couple who is expecting their first-born. It is held with a purpose of bestowing gifts upon the first-time mother so she’ll have items needed by the baby on its arrival day. It also serves as a welcoming event for the new member of the family.

The mother’s closest family members or best friends are the ones who throw a baby shower in some occasions even the mother to be her self.

    Inviting Guests

Baby Shower planners usually have a hard time with choosing who should they invite to such event. Usually the guests are only the closest family members of the mother and father that are expecting and their closest friends. It would be a good idea that the mother to be gets the list of guests and goes through it.

If you are planning a surprise baby shower, you would need to do your home work and choose who should get invited.

If the child is not a first-born, you can short the list down to only family members and two or three best friends of the mother to be.

For invitations you can choose a formal way (sending invitations by post mail) or informal way (sending invitations by email, phoning the guests, texting…). These days informal way id a lot easier and cheaper, but there is also a problem when you are sending emails, not every body checks their mail and yours could end up in spam. So, it would be best to add a confirmation date on the invitation email card (they have to confirm if they come and even if they can’t come). That way you know who didn’t see the invitation and later on you can invite them by phone. The invitations should be sent at least a month or two before the event, so the guests have time to free their calendar for that day.
